Alcatel-Lucent Has Begun Laying Honotua

Alcatel-Lucent, using the cableship Île de Ré, has begun laying the Honotua submarine cable according to an article in tahitipresse.pf.  The system, costing US $122m, will link the islands of Bora Bora, Raiatea, Huahine, Moorea and Tahiti with Hawaii.  Honotua means “the link towards the open sea.”
