Angola's government, via state-owned operator Angola Telecom, has partnered private telecoms companies Mundo Startel, Unitel, Mercury and Movicel to create a joint venture company called Angola Cable. The new company will build and manage the optical fibre network, Angola Press reports, citing Telecommunications and Information Technologies minister Jose de Carvalho da Rocha. The partners plan to invest over USD 90 million to deploy the fibre-optic network
