Singapore-based Campana Group and Alcatel-Lucent Submarine Networks (ASN), a subsidiary of Nokia, will deploy a submarine cable system dubbed ‘Mythic’ (Myanmar-Malaysia-Thailand International Connection). The 1,600 km submarine cable system will link Myanmar to Malaysia and Thailand with onward connectivity to Singapore, Hong Kong and beyond.

The cable system will be based on 100 Gbps technology for an initial design capacity of 20 Tbps and is scheduled for completion by the end of the first quarter of 2017.

The 2-fiber pair Mythic system will be built by Campana. Campana's partners will then offer diverse fiber backhaul to Singapore via open access points of presence (POPs) and to landing stations of other international submarine cables. ASN will be in charge of the project on a turnkey basis, from system design to installation and commissioning.
