The Call for Papers for SubOptic 2010 was issued in April 2009, and is available via the SubOptic web page.  Some examples of the possible subjects include:

Carriers & End Users:  What are the long-term cost-benefits of cable diversity, in the context of recent multiple cable cuts and outages?

Investors: Which business models work and which do not?

Oil/Gas: What is new to enhance yield, allow platform de-manning and drive higher profitability?

Scientific and Defence: What's on offer to provide early warning for tsunamis, sea bottom scientific observation and systems designed to monitor the threat of global terrorism?

Regulatory & Legal: What roadblocks are inhibiting deployment of new systems due to the increasing complexity of regulatory regimes?

System Engineering: What are the impacts of 40Gb/s and 100Gb/s technologies going to be on legacy and future submarine networks?

The Deadline for Submission of Abstracts is 15 September 2009.

Whatever segment of business you are in, SubOptic 2010, which will be held in Yokohama, Japan from 11 ~ 14 May 2010, is the venue to present your ideas.

The Program for 2010 promises to be one of the best ever.  The Program Committee has secured agreement from three world-class Keynote Speakers -  watch this space for more information soon!
