Tyco Electronics made its case to the town, but approval for a new fiber optics component assembly and manufacturing facility will have to wait until at least December according to Seacoast Online.  Tyco went before the Planning Board on Monday night to seek amended site review approval for a lot at 120 Shattuck Way, adjacent to an existing Tyco telecommunications facility. The company hopes to construct a 102,400-square-foot facility with manufacturing and office space at the 8.4-acre site, bringing its operations to town from a leased space in Lowell, Mass.  The facility Tyco wants to bring to Newington would house Tyco Electronics Subsea Communications, which manufactures fiber optics transmitters, repeaters and other technology that are attached to undersea fiber optics cables. In total, 102 employees work at Lowell, but Kirsch said it was unclear how many would accept positions in Newington and whether jobs would be available.
