Anritsu Company is displaying its optical test and measurement portfolio that includes solutions to accurately and quickly measure emerging high-speed devices, systems, and networks at all stages, from design and manufacturing to network installation and maintenance, at its booth (#1913) during OFC/NFOEC. The test and measurement solutions meet the needs of optical design engineers, network planners, field engineers, and installers.

“For more than 110 years, Anritsu has been serving the communications market. At OFC/NFOEC, we are showing that our long-standing commitment allows us to design optical test solutions that address the development, installation and maintenance of fiber optic networks and associated equipment,” said Wade Hulon, Vice President and General Manager of Anritsu Company.

Research and Development Engineers designing and validating integrated circuits (ICs) and devices will find the MP1800A Signal Quality Analyzer (SQA) and MP2100A BERTWave well suited for their needs. The MP1800A is a modular BERT with a built-in Pulse Pattern Generator (PPG) that supports output of high-quality low-intrinsic jitter signals, as well as a built-in Error Detector (ED) with high input sensitivity of 10 mV. The MP2100A is an all-in-one BERT and EYE/Pulse Scope solution for evaluating optical active devices. It has a Gating Time that is 90% less than conventional BERT equipment using remote commands, and its EYE/Pulse Scope function is 300% faster.

Fiber Optic Outside Plant Several OTDRs will be on display for physical plant applications. The MW90010A Coherent OTDR (C-OTDR) detects faults in ultra-long optical submarine cables of up to 12,000 km, including multiple repeaters (EDFA). It is ideal for evaluating new cables at service deployment, as well as for troubleshooting in-service faults. The MT9083C Access Master? has one-button fault location, pass/fail classification, automated file saving and naming, and a macrobend detection feature to identify installation issues.

With performance that rivals traditional OTDRs that are four times its size and more than twice its price, the MT9090A Network Master™ µOTDR provides the high performance, ease of use, and portability required for the installation and maintenance of optical fibers. Also at OFC/NFOEC will be the MT9090A equipped with a Gigabit Ethernet module that allows the palm-sized instrument to be used as a comprehensive solution for Gigabit Ethernet testing, and for installation and troubleshooting Ethernet communication lines.

Optical Networking Ideal for design and manufacturing of transmission equipment supporting 40/100 GbE, the MD1260A Ethernet Analyzer can also be used for installing and commissioning 40/100 GbE networks. The MP1590B Network Performance Tester can measure IP networks up to 10 GbE using Ethernet plug-in modules, as well as traditional functions, including testing of PDH, DSn, SDH/SONET, and OTN equipment and jitter measurement.

The CMA5000a is a portable, all-in-one Multi-Layer Network Test Platform that supports network transmission and optical physical layer tests for installation and maintenance. It offers all the test applications required for comprehensive physical layer characterization, including OTDR, chromatic dispersion, polarization mode dispersion, loss test set, and optical return loss. The CMA5000a also supports various transmission equipment and network performance measurements, including GbE, 10 GbE, DWDM, and SONET/SDH.
