TI Sparkle, Telecom Italia Group's international operator, has announced that the new SEA-ME-WE 5 undersea cable will land in Catania, Sicily, converting the island into the leading cable landing hub in Europe. TI Sparkle is among the 15 initial operators investing in the deployment of the new 19,500 km submarine cable system connecting Europe to Singapore and delivering ultra-broadband capacity at 100 Gbps.
