WFN Strategies will be presenting and exhibiting at the upcoming Pacific Telecommunications Council 2018 conference and exhibition, which will be held in Honolulu, Hawaii from 21 to 24 January.

On Sunday of the conference, WFN Strategies Managing Director, Wayne Nielsen, will be presenting alongside a panel of other industry experts at the Submarine Cable Workshop 1: Global Undersea Market Update. When PTC started 40 years ago, satellite communications throughout the Pacific (and world) were fundamental to connectivity. Since then, tremendous developments in the submarine cable industry have resulted in a massive shift of the world’s international telecommunications traffic from satellite to cable connectivity. These cables are now, unequivocally, critical infrastructure, pivotal to the transformation of a global economy reliant on the Internet, data communications, and the global cable network. At PTC’18, the annual, “can’t miss” Submarine Cables Day will commence on Sunday at 9 a.m. with the Submarine Cable Workshop and Luncheon. In this first part of the workshop insightful speakers will take us on a trip around the globe looking at new connectivity, new diversity and new cable developments. We will then look at what’s new in the world of Legal and Regulatory and close our session with a look at the Cable Ship Maintenance Fleet on a Global Basis.

WFN Strategies will also be exhibiting throughout the PTC conference, showcasing recent efforts in the engineering and implementing of submarine optical cable systems for various commercial clients in the Pacific and beyond.
