Barely four months after it was awarded an operating licence in Senegal, Globacom has received another license that will enable it to operate in The Gambia according to a This Day Online article.  Globacom in a statement made available to THISDAY disclosed that the latest licence approval was presented to the company in Banjul, Gambia, on Monday by the Secretary General of the Government of the country Dr. Njogou BAH.  Globacom also disclosed that the Gambian licence is the sixth the company has so far won in Africa. It now has operating licenses in Nigeria, Ghana, Benin Republic and Cote d’Ivoire.
