Yenista Optics, a leading manufacturer of fiber optic test and measurement equipment, expands its multichannel OSICS platform with new Variable Attenuator and Optical Switch modules. OSICS is a flexible 8 module rack system that can be configured with DFB lasers or a variety of tunable lasers covering the 1260nm to 1650nm wavelength bands. The new modules add functionality to the platform that can be controlled though a single interface.

The “OSICS ATN” variable attenuator module provides up to 60dB attenuation with 0.1dB resolution, operation over 1260nm to 1650nm and optical power handling up to 2W. This ensures compatibility with nearly all power control requirements, even in high channel count DWDM applications. The module is available in both single mode fiber and polarization maintaining fiber configurations.

The “OSICS SWT” single mode optical switch modules are available as 1×1 (shutter), 1×2, 1×4 and 2×2 types with low insertion loss, low PDL, a fast switching time and a very repeatable operation. The switches are also available as polarization maintaining fiber version with high PER.
