JAKARTA – Telecommunication (telecom) issuer PT Indosat Tbk (ISAT) is likely to incur up to Rp 30 billion (US$ 3.01 million) following the theft of company’s submarine fiber-optic cables in Riau Islands.

The theft occurred to Indosat’s submarine cables stretching across 31.7 kilometers in Bintan Island in last June, resulting impeded activities of international telecommunication, such as voice, data as well as data sending from Indonesia to Singapore.
