The U.S. Defense Department asked Congress for $ 450 million USD for maintening and upgrading the Guantanamo Bay prison, which contradicts President Barack Obama’s promise to close the prison.

This amount will be used to upgrade the military offices, connect a fiber optic submarine cable from Florida and maintain the facility fully operational, opened in the illegaly occupied territory of Cuba for more than a century, USA Today reported.
