Tyco (NYSE: TYC) today announced the appointment of Stephen Wasdick as Vice President, Global Communications. In this role, Mr. Wasdick serves as the company's chief communications officer, with global responsibility for external communications, media relations, internal communications, marketing, web and social media strategies. He also serves on the company's Executive Council. Based in Princeton, N.J., he reports to Judith Reinsdorf, Executive Vice President & General Counsel.

Mr. Wasdick joins Tyco with more than 25 years of communications experience at major corporations. Prior to Tyco, he was Vice President, Global Media Relations & External Communications, for global insurer ACE Group from 2008 to 2013, where he was responsible for worldwide media relations, financial communications, global website, social media, executive communications and other external relations strategies. From 2003 to 2008, he served as Director, Communications and Program Management, with Alcatel-Lucent and Lucent Technologies, where he led employee communications, human resources and community relations initiatives. Previously, he held a series of external and internal communications management positions at Prudential, Travelers and Aetna. Mr. Wasdick holds a bachelor's degree in Communication from Rutgers University in New Brunswick, N.J.
