China and Taiwan have completed works on the first two undersea telecoms cables which are set to be operational from August 21, reports AFP citing an official from Taiwan’s largest telecoms company Chunghwa Telecom. The two fibre optic cables join the city of Xiamen on the Chinese mainland with the Taiwanese-controlled Kinmen island group.
