Cameroon is set to launch a submarine cable system with the construction of a point fiber optic landing in Kribi, in the South, called Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) this year.

The project has opened a call for tenders recently launched by the government through the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications.

The long distance of 14,000 km, ACE, which stretches from Europe to the West African coast, has been deployed by an investor consortium in which is the French telecom operator Orange.

The ACE cable as, we learnt has, “a transmission capacity of 5.12 Terabytes and will use the wavelength of 40G.”
