More than 2,200 Alcatel-Lucent employees in the Ottawa region should have a happier Christmas than appeared likely just a few weeks ago. The troubled telecommunications giant got a $2.1-billion injection from Credit Suisse and Goldman Sachs that could ease a serious cash and debt-repayment squeeze for several years.
