China Daily is reporting that repairs to the submarine cable damaged by Typhoon Marakot in August will be completed in early October.  Han Yihu, China Telecom's Managing Direcotr of International Business, said all of the company's damaged cables are expected to be fully repaired this month.  Chinese access to websites based in the United States has slowed or even stopped for many users.
“After the network disruption this time, we may consider re-arranging our new cable lines to avoid high-risk regions such as the Bashi Channel where natural disasters prevail,” Han said.
