Nexans Norway celebrates its Centenary!

Since our establishment in 1915, Nexans Norway has specialized in producing cable for land and underwater applications. We have advanced cable technology step by step and our production capabilities have evolved in line with changing demands.

Since our first power cable installation in 1919, we have continued to make advancements in our telecommunications, energy, and oil and gas solutions, to the benefit of the communities we operate in and in people's quality of life. We have not only contributed to building Norway, we have also linked people and nations together with our transatlantic cables.

Skandinaviske Kabel- og Gummifabriker was established in Oslo in1915.  We have operated under the name of large international concerns such as ITT and Alcatel. Today, our name is Nexans Norway, and we are part of the Nexans Group, one of the world's leading cable manufacturers.

With 1600 employees and manufacturing plants located in Halden, Namsos, Rognan, Langhus and Karmøy, we maintain a valued presence in Norwegian communities. Nexans Norway plays a continuing key role in supplying innovative solutions to the Norwegian oil and gas industry as well as to other customers in a diverse range of product segments and market sectors. Thanks to the skills and innovativeness of our employees we can take pride in commemorating a series of landmark advances within our industry. It is the results of these advances that has enabled us to reach our centenary and which will continue to be the motor of our success for the next 100 years.

Global demand for energy is expected to grow by 35 percent within 2035 and renewable energy will account for an increasingly greater share of this growth. Closely allied with its customers, Nexans will continue to develop, manufacture and supply products and solutions to help meet tomorrow's demand and to create a bright and sustainable future.
