Sony Ericsson announced plans to cut another 2,000 jobs as its mobile phone sales continued to suffer from the economic slowdown. The new round of job cuts comes on top of 2,000 lay-offs just completed. They form part of a third round of cost reductions for the company, which is aiming for another EUR 400 million in operating savings by mid-2010, after already cutting EUR 380 million from its cost base in the past year.
