AllAfrica.com is reporting that theÂ Botswana Telecommunication Corporation (BTC) is planning to invest US$75 million in order to secure bandwidth on theÂ West African Cable System (WACS). Â BTC and Telecom Namibia will contribute equally to the system, whileÂ Vodacom, MTN, Neotel and Zain will contribute US$100 millionÂ each for the development of the systemÂ that will link London with Africa, said Thapelo Lippe, BTC Group CEO. Â Additionally, BTC is a board member of theÂ Eastern Africa Submarine Cable System (EASSy), which will further increase Botswana's bandwidth capacity.
