AllAfrica.com is reporting that the Botswana Telecommunication Corporation (BTC) is planning to invest US$75 million in order to secure bandwidth on the West African Cable System (WACS).  BTC and Telecom Namibia will contribute equally to the system, while Vodacom, MTN, Neotel and Zain will contribute US$100 million each for the development of the system that will link London with Africa, said Thapelo Lippe, BTC Group CEO.  Additionally, BTC is a board member of the Eastern Africa Submarine Cable System (EASSy), which will further increase Botswana's bandwidth capacity.
