The telecom regulator is set to invite fresh bids in September from the private sector for installation of a submarine cable.  “The process will start once the 3G auction is out of the way,” said Sunil Kanti Bose, chairman of Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC). The 3G auction is scheduled for September 2.  A submarine cable, essentially, is a cable laid on the sea bed between land-based stations to carry telecommunication signals across stretches of ocean.
