CTC Marine Projects (a DeepOcean ASA subsidiary) has been awarded a submarine network installation contract by Alcatel-Lucent.
The contract will be for an initial period of 6 months starting in June 2008, with options to extend for a further 6 months. CTC will employ a comprehensive Telecoms installation spread for the work, using the Maersk Responder vessel and the company's MD3 cable plough. CTC's Telecoms General Manager, Paul Woodward, commented: We are delighted to be working with Alcatel-Lucent on this project. It re-establishes CTC's strength in submarine telecoms and will help to position the company as a major supplier of marine installation services to the market.'
