Built by Ali & Sons Marine Engineering Factory in its yard in Mussafah, Abu Dhabi. The ship is a 127 meter long state-of-the art cable laying vessel with a Dynamic Positioning (DPS 2) capability. The vessel houses various state of the art technology such as a Remote Operated Vehicle (ROV) that enables the vessel to do pre-inspections and surveys of the seabed and cut trenches to bury the cable without difficulty. There were many challenges in the making of the Maram that stands as testament to ASMEF ingenuity and adaptation to client’s requirement while maintaining the highest standard of quality. The project teams from both ASMEF and the client worked closely to make this project a success. The completion of this vessel is a very significant accomplishment for the company, especially because it has been built under challenging situations. It departed from the Ali & Sons Marine Engineering facility on 20 April 2016 on the way to its destination in Dubai, UAE.
