Jayapura (ANTARA News) – Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will inaugurate an undersea optical fiber network called Sulawesi Maluku Papua Cable System (SMPCS) in Manokwari, West Papua province, on May 10.

“At first, the president was scheduled to inaugurate the SMPCS in Jayapura (Papua province), but then the venue was moved to Manokwari (West Papua province),” spokesperson of the Indonesian communication company Telkom Robert Wibowo Rahardjo noted here on Friday.

He affirmed that the president will inaugurate the cable system on May 10, 2015, during his visit to Manokwari, he added.
