The owner of a Wellington-based charter boat fined after fishing in a cable protection zone says that, although he is frustrated by how events transpired, he will not be fishing in that area again.
Paul Gubb, 59, owner and master of recreational charter vessel Sweet Georgia, has been fined $10,000 plus costs of $380 after being caught fishing inside the protected zone in March last year.
The Transport Ministry prosecuted Gubb and he was sentenced in the Wellington District Court last week.
