A submarine fiber optic cable between Cuba and Venezuela, which should begin operating by mid 2011 will not mean expanded access to info-communication services in the Caribbean island, reported state-run newspaper Granma.   According to an El Universal article, the existence of the fiber optic cable will allow Cuba to multiply by 3,000 times the current Cuba's connection capacity with overseas hubs.
