A submarine fiber optic cable between Cuba and Venezuela, which should begin operating by mid 2011 will not mean expanded access to info-communication services in the Caribbean island, reported state-run newspaper Granma. Â According to an El Universal article, the existence of the fiber optic cable will allow Cuba to multiply by 3,000 times the current Cuba's connection capacity with overseas hubs.
