WFN Strategies (www.wfnstrategies.com) today announced that it has been selected to support TeleCuba Communications’ upcoming direct fiber optic subsea cable between the United States and Cuba.
WFN Strategies will be working in conjunction with in Great Eastern Group (www.greateasterngroup.com) who is responsible for system design, construction, installation and maintenance.

The fiber optic cable should be fully operational by the second quarter of 2011. Once in service, the use of the fiber optic cable will eliminate all satellite communication between the US and Cuba. The new cable will allow for an array of new telecommunication products and services such as high speed internet to be offered to the Cuban people, which are not feasible using satellite communications.
