PUERTO PRINCESA – Philippine Long Distance Telephone Co (PLDT) on Thursday announced the start of operations of its submarine fiber-optic cable linking Western Visayas to Palawan province.

The nearly P1-billion Palawan Domestic Fiber Optic Network (DFON) project is composed of 620 kilometers of state-of-the-art fiber optic inland and submarine cables.
