Indian External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj has arrived in Dhaka on 25 June. During this official tour the marking of land, Teesta Water deal, India-Bangladesh rail transport, Multi Entry Visa and Work Permit issues are set to be discussed and hopefully resolved.
In the meantime, a contract to export bandwidth has been signed. After her tour, Bangladesh’s bandwidth will enter India with Swaraj. Bangladesh Submarine Cable Company Limited (BSCCL) has already taken all required steps. For now, Bangladesh will export 10 GPS bandwidth in three states of India. The officers of BSCCL hope that eventually this number will go up to 40 GPS. If Bangladesh gets a second cable line, it will be possible to export 100 GPS bandwidth to eight states of India.
