Tanzania Telecommunication Company Ltd will be cutting Internet charges by 50% starting this month according to an article on AllAfrica.com.  Tanzania will be the first East African country to lower rates after connecting to the SEACOM submarine cable system.

“TTCL has reduced its Internet prices effective from October 1, in order to pass on this cost saving benefit to the end users, and the high customer expectations of reduced costs on Internet services have finally been met,” said TTCL chief executive officer Said Amour Said.
