Construction work on the Brazil-Europe submarine cable developed by Telebras in partnership with Islalink will start in April 2016, Telebras announced. The USD 250 million investment will consist of a 5,900-km cable, permitting data transmission at speeds of up to 30 Tbps. It will run from Santos, state of Sao Paulo, with a hub in Fortaleza (Ceara), and will arrive at Sines, in Portugal. It will also permit access to traffic exchange points in Frankfurt, Amsterdam, London and Paris.
