Brazilian metro fibre and data centre services provider Ascenty is opening a data centre in the Northeast in June and also putting into operation a new 150-km fibre network connecting Maracanau and the metropolitan area of Fortaleza (Ceara), reports Segs. The goal is to interconnect the new data centre, located in Maracanau, with telecom operators in the region and the submarine cables connecting Brazil to other countries. To ensure greater resilience and availability of services, Ascenty built three different routes linking its data centre to the submarine cable stations in Fortaleza. In the state of Sao Paulo, Ascenty's proprietary fibre network already surpasses 3,500 km.
