The Samoan Government is on the verge of sealing a multi-million tala arrangement that will revolutionize Samoa’s telecommunication capacity and capabilities.
Three offers are on the table for the Cabinet appointed board to determine a new submarine fiber optic cable provider for Samoa.
“The new submarine cable will deliver much greater bandwidth while significantly reducing the cost of accessibility for people, making it so much easier for them to become part of the information age,” said Board Chairman and Minister of Telecommunication Tuisugaletaua Sofara.
“Our deliberations in Apia this month will cover a broad range of issues that includes but not limited to costs, capacity, dependability but most importantly reliability,” said the Minister.
“We are looking at a fiber optic that will meet our country’s needs for the next 25 to 50 years.
“That target is for the new submarine cable to deliver unlimited connectivity to consumer and business customers and have a major impact in developing our economy.
