A technical problem with the submarine cable installed between Sri Lanka and the Maldives last night, has caused major communication issues including the disruption of telephones and internet service provided by telecom giant Dhiraagu.
Internet service was cut off at about 10.30 last night from various areas of the Maldives and had slowed down the internet connection after the incident. The cable problem had also affected the international calls afterwards.
