E-Marine PJSC, the leader in submarine cable installation, maintenance and repair in the Middle East, participated in ITU Telecom Africa 2008, displaying some of its industry-leading services.

The conference, which took place at the Cairo International Convention and Exhibition Centre, Egypt, from 12-15 May, is a major networking platform for the region's top ICT companies. The event includes an exhibition featuring the latest innovations, and an extensive forum that explores key technologies, policies and applications driving Africa's ICT sector.

“E-Marine is pleased to participate in ITU Telecom Africa, and it is committed to providing the best in submarine services to this region,” said Mr. Omar Jassim Bin Kalban, Managing Director and CEO of E-Marine. “This is a promising market with great potential, and we believe that our participation in this event will increase our opportunities and expand our market share in Africa and beyond.”

E-Marine recently announced that it has been contracted by telecom giant Alcatel-Lucent to lay a 4,900-km submarine cable between the UAE and Kenya. The project demonstrates the company's ongoing commitment to increasing its capabilities and presence in the international marketplace. The cable will connect the hubs of the Middle East and Eastern Africa.
