MANILA, Philippines – As part of its ASEAN (Association of Southeast Asian Nations) expansion, Globe Telecom’s GlobeTel Singapore Pte. Ltd. secured a facilities-based operations (FBO) license to provide international cable and other telecommunications services in the city-state.
GlobeTel Singapore, the wholly-owned subsidiary of GTI Business Holdings, Inc. (which in turn is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Globe), will offer international cable services to help strengthen connectivity between Singapore and the Philippines, as well as support businesses operating in the two countries, the Ayala-led telecommunications company said in a statement Monday, January 12.
GlobeTel Singapore will also provide alternate and redundant cable paths from Singapore to Hong Kong and Japan transiting the Philippines, further strengthening connectivity within the region.
