Internet users in West Africa are breathing easier now that the SAT-3 submarine cable has been restored.  A fault in the cable, which connects South Africa to Europe, was discovered off the coast of Benin in late July.  The damage crippled 70% of Nigeria's bandwidth and severely disrupted banking operations, mobile phone networks and the local government.

BBC News is reporting that a ship arrived in Cotonou, Benin late Saturday and repaired the break on Sunday morning.
