Alcatel-Lucent (Euronext Paris and NYSE: ALU) announced today the opening of its Brazilian Executive Briefing Center (EBC) – a large workspace equipped with state-of-the-art technology and demonstrations to host customers, business partners and other stakeholders interested in Alcatel-Lucent's solutions. This is Alcatel-Lucent's first Executive Briefing Center in Latin America.

Designed to facilitate business meetings, training and presentations, the new EBC will highlight advanced communications technologies used by wireless and wireline service providers and enterprises. Service provider customers will be able to see demos of significant technologies such as IPTV, WiMax and softswitch based next generation switching solutions. Enterprise customers will have a chance to see Alcatel-Lucent's call center technology as well as the full range of voice and data products for corporate communications. There will also be demonstrations of Femto Cell and IP Security Control technology.

The EBC occupies nearly 15,400 square feet of space in the company's premises on Anchieta Road, in São Paulo, and will receive visitors from Brazil and other countries in Latin America. It features executive meeting rooms with full videoconference capability to host customers and help them to experience the world of technologies available in the EBC.

Alcatel-Lucent has a total of 11 Executive Briefing Centers around the world, with five located in the Americas region: one in Plano, Texas, one in Murray Hill and another one in Whippany, both in New Jersey (USA), one in Ottawa (Canada), and the new location in Brazil. There are two centers in the Asia Pacific region: Sydney, Australia, Shanghai, China. In Europe, there are locations in Antwerp, Belgium, Paris, France, and Moscow Russia. Finally, in the Middle East, there is an EBC in Cairo, Egypt.

The EBC in São Paulo will also host research and development (R&D) groups that will perform integration work from Bell Labs.
