African news website This Day is reporting that Glo 1 landed in Lagos on 5 September.  The cable is 9,800km long, and stretches from the UK to Nigeria with landing points in Bude, London and Lisbon among others.  Paddy Adenuga, Globacom’s Group Executive Director, said that Glo 1 “will stimulate a new era of prosperity in the continent by offering cheap, fast and reliable international calls, unprecedented fast access to the internet and revolutionary data transfer”.
