Brazilian state-owned telecommunications infrastructure provider Telebras said in a statement to the Brazilian Securities Commission (CVM) that it will sign “in the coming days” a shareholders agreement with IslaLink to form the joint venture to launch and operate the submarine cable which will connect Brazil and Europe. Additionally, Telebras said that it will hold an extraordinary general meetingon 23 July to elect Jovino Alberto Pereira Oliveira as member of the supervisory board and Francklin Andrade Mattar Furtado as his alternate.
