AFP is reporting  that Sierra Leone's parliament ratified Wednesday a $31-million-dollar loan agreement as part of a project to lay a fibre optic cable from South Africa to Europe.  The loan from the World Bank's development agency, the International Development Association (IDA), will finance landing the offshore cable in Sierra Leone, Deputy Finance Minister Momodu Kargbo was quoted as saying.

“The project will improve international connectivity through funding Sierra Leone's participation in the Africa Coast to Europe (ACE) submarine cables,” the minister was quoted as saying.
