Telenor Norway said it has laid a 109 kilometre submarine fibre-optic cable from Bodo to Rost in the Lofoten islands. The 200 tonne cable and the cable joints were supplied by Nexans and the shipping contractor was Seaworks. This will improve services on the Lofton islands.

The project was carried out in conjunction with national regulator Nkom, but Telenor is the sole owner of the cable. The work was carried out in two phases, one over the weekend of 08 to 10 July, and the other the following weekend.
