On June 26, a new optical submarine network landed in Japan's Ise Shima Peninsula, connecting the country to Singapore. In Asia, the need for new submarine cables network is growing.

This line consists of APG – The Asia Pacific Gateway submarine cable network, expanding 11,000 kilometers by linking Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Hong Kong, Korea, Taiwan and Singapore.

Mikio Yoshioka of Submarine Network Division, NEC Corporation, said, “The construction of APG cable network is being conducted on a full turn-key basis by NEC, one of the three suppliers of submarine cable systems. Over the years, NEC has laid more than 200,000 kilometers of submarine cables, as equivalent to five times around the globe.”
