Telkom announced in a press statement on Monday, 24 March 2014, that it is an active participant in the latest upgrades to the East African Submarine System the (EASSy). The EASSy consortium recently announced that they will soon deploy 100 gigabit-per-second technology to enable a carry capacity in excess of 10 Terabits per second.
