IT News Africa reports that Kenyan telecoms operator, Safaricom, has announced plans to perform live testing on the TEAMS undersea cable.  The company has invested in two different cable systems, TEAMS (providing 22,500 MB capacity) and SEACOM (providing 620 MB capacity).  Safaricom's investment in these systems aligns with its reputation as both the  market leader on data and voice traffic, and the largest local consumer of undersea cable capacity. As for costs, CEO Michael Joseph reports that consumer costs will eventually decrease between 20 and 30 percent.
