DXN Builds Solomon Islands Cable Landing Station

DXN has won an approximately AU$1.2 million contract to design, manufacture, deliver and install a modular cable landing station for the Adamasia Cable System 1 in the Solomon Islands. The Solomon Islands Submarine Cable Company selected the Australian infrastructure provider for the project.

The station will combine critical power and cooling systems with fire detection and suppression, backup generation and other supporting equipment. DXN is due to deliver the facility by April 2027, ahead of the cable project's planned completion later that year.

ACS-1 will branch from Google's Bulikula network and connect the Solomon Islands to the broader Pacific Connect system between Guam and Fiji. It will become the country's second international subsea telecommunications cable after the Coral Sea Cable System. SISCC will own and operate ACS-1.

The Australian Government is supporting the project through the Australian Infrastructure Financing Facility for the Pacific. The financing package combines grant and loan support. It also includes funding for off-grid power generation and storage intended to improve the infrastructure's climate resilience and strengthen service continuity.

DXN has delivered modular cable landing infrastructure elsewhere in the Pacific. Its current work includes an American Samoa landing station for the La Vasa cable, another system connected to Bulikula. The Solomon Islands award extends that regional portfolio while advancing a government-backed route intended to strengthen international connectivity.
