The Asia-America Gateway (AAG) has gone online according to an article in the Saigon TImes.  This is the first submarine cable system that connects Vietnam directly with the United States.  Nguyen Huu Khanh, Vietnam Telecom International (VTI) Managing Director told attendees at the launch ceremony that VTI didn't have to lease line in regional countries as with previous systems.
