IT News Africa is reporting that Telkom’s SAT-3 submarine cable system is experiencing a loss of connectivity, causing breaks in traffic and slow response to the rest of the world.  Coverage is being provided by backup systems such as SAT2 and Seacom, and satellite uplinks to ensure connectivity in South Africa. The poor connectivity of SAT3 is supposedly linked to a power outage between Abidjan and Lagos in Nigeria.
