NaiTel, the telecommunications arm of Aqaba Digital Hub, and MEDUSA have signed a strategic agreement to provide Jordan with access to the MEDUSA submarine cable system. Announced in Aqaba on October 1 2026, the agreement combines access through an existing connection with planned colocation and network integration. The arrangement links the Jordan facility with MEDUSA’s Mediterranean infrastructure, whose landing footprint spans Europe and North Africa, through the Coral Bridge connection.

Under the agreement, Aqaba Digital Hub will provide access to MEDUSA through Coral Bridge. This is an arrangement for network access, not an announcement of a newly built MEDUSA physical landing in Aqaba. MEDUSA will also establish colocation capacity at the carrier-neutral Aqaba facility. That commitment is separate from the existing connection used to extend access to Jordan and forms another component of the parties’ agreed cooperation.

The partners plan to integrate MEDUSA infrastructure with NaiTel’s regional and international network, alongside Aqaba Digital Hub’s data center and cable landing station. These plans give the agreement both a network and a facility component: access through Coral Bridge, colocation at Aqaba, and integration with NaiTel and ADH infrastructure. The announcement does not specify a capacity allocation or commercial pricing for the arrangement, and it provides no implementation schedule.

MEDUSA describes its system as extending more than 8,700 km, with 24 fibre pairs and a 25-year design life. Its Mediterranean landing footprint across Europe and North Africa provides the wider network context for the Jordan agreement. The industry significance of this announcement is the combination of that submarine infrastructure with a carrier-neutral facility and regional and international network integration, rather than construction of an additional physical MEDUSA landing in Jordan.

The confirmed status is a signed agreement, with colocation and integration described as planned activities. No activation date is confirmed, and the announcement identifies no next dated milestone. The distinction matters when assessing the project’s progress: the parties have agreed on the access and integration framework, but the source does not establish when those planned elements will become operational. The October 1 announcement therefore confirms the partnership without providing a service launch timetable.
