Telin, BW Digital, and Nongsa Digital Park have completed the Batam landing of the Nongsa Changi Cable, marking a major deployment milestone for the new link between Indonesia and Singapore. The system came ashore at Nongsa Digital Park, adding a new international cable touchpoint in Batam.

NCC runs approximately 50 kilometers across the Singapore Strait and contains 24 fiber pairs. Its direct route is designed to provide high-capacity, low-latency connectivity for cloud platforms, hyperscalers, artificial intelligence services, and data center interconnection. The partners described the landing as an important step toward operational readiness.

The cable forms part of Telkom Group’s Indonesia Cable Express initiative. NCC is one of two new Batam-Singapore systems being developed by the group, alongside the Indonesia Singapore Cable System. Together, those investments are intended to expand route diversity and strengthen international network resilience between the two countries.

The project also connects with BW Digital’s wider infrastructure strategy in Batam. Its local portfolio includes the Citra Connect terrestrial fiber network and the NDP1 data center campus at Nongsa Digital Park, which is planned for 144MW. The combination is intended to provide an integrated platform spanning subsea connectivity, terrestrial backhaul, and data center capacity.

With the shore-end milestone complete, NCC moves closer to service while reinforcing Batam’s role as an Indonesian gateway to Singapore and regional markets. The remaining work toward operational readiness will determine when customers can begin using the new route and its additional capacity.
